  Intermittent self-catheterisation (ISC) is a simple, reliable procedure by which passing a catheter (a small hollow tube) into your bladder drains the urine, it is then removed and discarded. ISC can be performed several times a day, your nurse will teach you the procedure and advise you on how often you should empty your bladder. Catheters are available in different sizes, your nurse will assess you and help you in selecting the right product for you.
